This is an interesting article I did for Travellers’ Voice Magazine in 2016. The premise of the article was to explore the escalating prevalence of prescription abuse and how benzodiazepines are becoming a scourge in some of the urban centres of Ireland and beyond. It was an interesting interview with Irene Cawley and Joe Dowling of an organisation at the coalface of social problems in inner city Dublin called “HOPE”, Hands-On Peer Education.
